If you have a working knowledge of Freemasonry you too can become a Trustee of the CIO.
The Freemasons Charity Yorkshire & East Ridings – Charitable Incorporated Organisation, or FCYNER for short, has been in operation since November 2016 successfully handing out grants to dependants of Masons and local non-masonic causes. The Annual General Meeting for the year just ended on 31st March 2020 will take place on 8th October 2020 at The Parsonage Hotel, Escrick near York to which all Masons based in the Province of Yorkshire North & East Ridings are entitled to attend. There are eight elected Trustees and two ex-officio Trustees running the FCYNER and each year at least two positions become available for election.
Applications are therefore being sought to stand as Trustee, the maximum service period is four years. All applicants must have a good knowledge of Freemasonry, preferably within the Masonic Province of Yorkshire North & East Ridings, but need not be Freemasons themselves and also need not be male. They must have experience in charity work, preferably within the masonic setting, but previous experience as a Trustee of a Registered Charity would be considered an advantage. The FCYNER does much of its work by electronic communication, so experience with word processing and spreadsheets with access to the internet is essential. All Trustees are expected to attend every Trustees meeting, which are held four times throughout the year, generally in March, June, September and December and within the Province.
