7 March 2024Bro. Ted Law, J.W. of Huntcliff Lodge in Saltburn bought his first TLC badge from W. Bro Ian Williams of Zetland Lodge in Guisborough over 4 years ago, and has ever since committed to work with the charity by liaising with W. Bro. Andrew Hill also of Zetland Lodge to help and raise funds for the TLC charity.
He has been doing so by selling their pens and pin badges at his place of work, a North Sea offshore oil and gas production vessel.
In 2020 he also put the charity forward to his company, as a nomination for one of their “Greenie Day Charity Awards“.
The company donates funds to each of their assets on a daily basis when it achieves a “Greenie day”, these funds are allocated whenever the platform secures a good safety record, i.e. no accidents, incidents, no environmental issues or near misses and achieves all pre-determined performance efficiencies.
At the end of each year the “Greenie Days” are totalled up and the relevant amount is presented to the assets nominated charities, and the final amount raised for TLC came to £3975 which was presented in February.
Ted along with his offshore crew were all very pleased to be able to support this worthy charity and will continue to give their continual support in the future. The TLC campaign has been ongoing for over sixteen years with over one million teddy bears donated.
